Spiritual Control

Monday, February 26th, 2007

It has always been said that the spirit is strong but the flesh is weak.  So which one has the most influence on a persons life?  I believe that the one that is held up with more importance is the one that will rule over the other.

The thing with the flesh is that it is provoked by lust in regard to things it requires.  The more you feed the fleshful desires the more the spirit is taken over by it.  With the spirit you'll find it seeks happiness more than anything else, fulfillment also.

One will only tame the other.  The problem with flesh though is that it never is truly satisfied.  As Mick Jagger once rang out, "I can't get no satisfaction".  If you listen to the song it is all about the fleshful appetite.

With the spirit though people have tried to obtain total happiness also.  Across all religious faiths we have tried to do it this way also.  Some religions take us into solitude while others share the experience.  The thing with the spirit is that it is the only thing that has the potential to live on even after we pass away.  The spiritual decisions we make are often very important to the individual.  To be spiritually content can be true happiness.

The world certainly plays on our flesh, now more than ever.  Why is that?  Apart from the fact that technology leaves fleshly options everywhere for us, we are in a time where the world is trying to tell us that it is more important.  Trying to make the spirit control your flesh is the first step to true happiness.  The bible says that our adversary the devil prowls around seeking who he shall desire.  We are only devil fodder if we don't seek the protection of Jesus.  You see, what Jesus did at Easter gave Jesus spiritual control over the devils plans.  Since that amazing day of amazing grace, we all have had a protector in Him who saves us.  The devil even tried to stop Jesus by tempting His flesh to not go ahead and save all people's who turn to Him.

Thank God He sent us Jesus.  By no other name can we expect total happiness, acceptance and love.  Without His statement in history the flesh would have wiped us all out, because the earth would have been the devil's playground.  Now, at least, we have a choice to follow the leader of the flesh or the leader of the spirit.  The best part about the leader of the spirit is that He is coming back.  The leader of the christian pack is coming back!

So where is Saddam now?

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

Wow!  What an entry and what an exit from the Earth it was for Saddam!  He was given so much support by America once upon a time, and look at what he did with it!  Shown so much excess in life, and he murdered people so freely when they didn't tow his line.  There is a Proverb that says "When the wicked are in charge, people hide.  When the wicked meet disaster, the godly multiply" (Proverbs 28:28).  We only see the disasters still on the news, I must say I'm a bit over it.

For all of the bad news there is the Good News!  For every innocent death there is a another child starting to get a better future.  For every war there is a new beginning, a new generation.  Besides, I believe there is a reason for all things, both good and bad.  We need to stop bagging what has happened in Bagdad and start to mature by accepting reality. The War has happened!  It still is!  Now we need to live with it.  Wars and rumours of wars abound, at least a bit more justice for the Iraqi children has been brought about.  I also care for what happened at 9/11, and accept America has the right to defend itself.  The terrorists like to do whatever they want, so why can't the U.S.?  We all will be judged by God for what we do, and what we undo.

As for Saddam, after hearing him tell a bystander to go to hell, once in the hanging gally; it was a very judgemental outburst from one who was possibly on his way there himself.  Where is he now?

Unless he found Jesus on his way out then going by the justice of God then he is down there now….For me hell is a place of total insanity, darkness and leaves you totally out of control with no way out, Forever!  Let God be the judge in all things, He knows that I wouldn't want His job.  There is another Proverb that says "A just king gives stability to his nation, but one who demands bribes destroys it" (Proverbs 29:4).  The evidence is that Saddam was king over all Iraq, and if he ruled over it in peace and liberty, like many other rulers around the world, then Iraq would be still be standing under this authority.  But God's kingdom demands justice.  It is for all who love Him, believe in Him and His authority.  He is a just God.  No matter how much people like to blame Him.

Want to be Healed?

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

It is certainly disheartening when people we know and love go through some terrible hardship.  I sympathise with you as Jesus does.  In fact it was recorded in the bible that Jesus wept on seeing a person who was losing her son.  I believe the shortest verse in the bible that says "Jesus Wept" is not only a verse for this woman's child at the time.  I believe it is also a cry for those who wont come to Him for healing all through history and today.

What does it take for us to go through before we will turn to Him for peace, Joy and Healing?  Why does God have to allow us to go through terrifible curses to get our attention?

He doesn't want us to be going through any of our ailments at all.  He simply wants us to turn to Him while we are still on Planet Earth.  We cannot decide we want to turn to Jesus after we are dead, and we will not see heaven unless we ask Jesus into our lives.  We cannot get super-natural healing by any other name but Jesus.  The Devil seeks to destroy you, God seeks to save you and heal you (sometimes in that order).  The sooner your soul is saved by the savior Jesus, the sooner true healing can begin.  You are made in the image of God, does He have any ailments?  Does He need drugs to stay alive?  God Bless your life, your body and your spirit in Jesus name.

A Muslim….What’s that?

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

One of the things that is really confusing today is what does Islam stand for.  These people are being attacked by people for being different while on the same hand they attack others also.  That also can go for any faith.  In all there is good and bad, it's the constant struggle we all deal with day to day.

Muslims believe in a prophet called Mohammed.  Prophet Muhammed was born in Arabia in the city of Mecca on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which was Monday the 20th day of April, 571 AD.  He believed he was the last prophet and no more would come after him.  He also wrote about Moses, King David, Abraham, the virgin Mary and Jesus.  To Islam Jesus was also a great prophet, but Jesus was as human as Mohammed and no more important than Mohammed himself.  Not treated as God.

Certainly we can say it is just what we are brought up with, but the concerning thing is that both sides believe they are totally right.  Even to the point of saying you are not going to heaven if you don't believe their way and their way alone.  Many muslim's believe that Mohammed and Jesus will stand together on their return to strike down satan together, and rule over the nations together.  A case of too much going to your head Mohammed?

So which book do you believe? The Islam Koran or the christian bible?  It's obvious where I am coming from, but that's only because of the impact Jesus has given me.  Through my pain He has represented gain.  I have had a very real vision of the Rapture, Mark of the Beast, Hell and Heaven.  One thing on this subject is that God allowed Mohammed to be enlightened enough to write the koran.  I believe He did this to bring about great things for Israel in the last days.  In the christian bible it says God will bring all peoples to His holy land to establish His kingdom, and what's the biggest motivator?  War!  The Koran says Mohammed will stand side by side with Jesus over the promised land for all believers!  In that, many wars have raged, but one thing rings true.  God gets His way with His creation.  Within His way He also imparts to those He chooses and nothing is wasted.  The one thing that gets my goat over Mohammed is that He believed he was the last brick in a long wall of Prophets.  I find that limited…….and limiting God.  I believe He will pour out His spirit on all flesh, and they will Prophecy (Luke 2:17).  It's almost like Mohammed, from his grave, is still trying to muffle a new generation who need to move in Prophecy!  Give me Jesus and Jesus alone, He gives me all I need!  Besides, He was the only one to claim He was and is God's own son.

A Christian….What’s that?

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

Sometimes becoming a christian is one of the most confusing things in life.  We can even sometimes be led up the wrong path.  I hope this will help you understand better.  Firstly giving your heart's desire over to Jesus puts Jesus first place in your life.  You are allowing Him to impact your whole life in His wonderous way.  Sometimes He, by His Holy Spirit, will convict you to make some changes.  These changes certainly can be easy sometimes and other times they can really stretch you.  By allowing God to do this through His son Jesus you will slowly (or sometimes fast) find yourself becoming what He originally created you to become.

Often referred to as a second birth, it really does give you another chance to become fulfilled.  Asking for the forgiveness of God is also a big factor here.  We all have gone against God in our lives, unlike Jesus His son.  That is why through Jesus we have an escape hatch from the ultimate destruction of ourselves, by ourselves.  The cross has become a symbol of repentance since Jesus was 33 years old.  He also said prior to that, that we must be born of water (water baptism) and born of the spirit (Holy Spirit visitation) to enter the kingdom of heaven when we pass on.  A lot of people do have the water baptism but never truely experience the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  People are often fearful of this because of what it manifests or starts in us.  I for one have been prayed over by some good christian friends, in their house in fact, not at a church as people people seem to dictate.  It was the most touching and emotional time I have ever had.  When Jesus is asked to fill our lives through His Holy Spirit by true believers, then you really can expect God to deal with your spirit life in a way that transforms you for the better.

Depressed?

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Ever find it hard to get out of the depression rut?  I want you to know that you are heading for perfection if you are on the pathway of Jesus.  The main reason we get depressed is because our relationship with ourselves is not right.  God says in his word that you are created in his image.  God also says he is perfect and not lacking in anything.  The relationship with yourself is very important and it cannot become better unless you form a relationship with your creator.  He is the answer.

I guarantee that if you form a relationship with your heavenly Father then you will be healed of this.  If you are under pressure all the time from depression then form these relationships all the time with God and yourself.  Read a version of the Holy Bible that you can understand.  Pray to God and ask Jesus to release you into his life and transformation.  Give your heart to God and He will heal your mind.  There may be other things you need to change in your life also.  Ask God to show you what to do, and through His spirit you will be healed.  The Holy Ghost is God's vehicle today that still allows God to work on earth, use Him and He will set you free.
